1. TDPA
additives are blended into the resins during production to impart to the plastic special degradation properties without impacting productivity or product integrity.
2. After use, when the product is disposed of in landfills, compost sites or inadvertently as litter, these products undergo
oxidative degradation much more rapidly than ordinary plastics
3. Mechanism that triggers this process are heat input, sunlight ( UV light ) and mechanical stress
4. Our Oxobio bags, in the presence of moisture, microorganisms,
oxygen, and soil, will ultimately biogegrade (per ASTM D6954-04)
Mike's Translation:
The additive formula we use ( ASTM D6954-04 ) means the additive mechanism will be triggered in 3-5 years depending on heat and moisture exposure. When bags are in landfills, or the additives are triggered the bag will biodegrade in another 2-5 years aproximately again, depending on the exposure to heat, moisture and microorganism. Therefore the bags have an aproximate lifetime of 5-7 years
